Goal of Ministry
Our purpose is to help clothe children living in poverty with warm outer clothing during Erie’s harsh winters.
When is the collection Drive?
Our collection takes place during the month of October. We have named the drive, “Trick or Treat for Hats, Mittens, Gloves, Scarves, Coats, Boots and Slippers.
Drop off
A basket is in the narthex for donations. The coordinator collects and stores the items, so the narthex stays neat. In November, the donations are dropped off at a school where the need is the greatest. Pfeiffer-Burleigh Elementary School, 235 East 11th, is often the recipient.
Who is involved?
During the first week in October, a memo is sent home with all Sunday school students that encourage parents and children to look over out-grown clothing as possible donations. There is also an article in the October newsletter that encourages everyone to participate. People who knit or crochet are welcome to make new hats, mittens, scarves, or slippers.
