Goal of Ministry
Patchwork of Love’s purpose is to produce quilts and knitted items for those needing comfort in body and/or spirit.
Location
They meet at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Claire Wolfe Lounge. This room is accessible from a small parking lot off of Caton Ave. There is a wheelchair ramp leading to the door.
When
They meet on Tuesday mornings from 9:00am to 11:30am.
Who They Serve
Their quilts are sent to other countries and parts of the United States through Lutheran World Relief Disaster Relief. Quilts are sent annually to Bethesda Home for Children located in Meadville, PA. Quilts are also prepared for various agencies in Erie County who work with the poor. Quilts are presented at baptisms and to honor graduates.
Knitted items are made for inner-city school children and prayer shawls are sent to our homebound folks of those needing a remembrance of God’s love.
Who Volunteers?
Men and women from St. Paul’s and various other churches volunteer. Some youths come on Monday evenings. Not all come with skills in sewing or using sewing machines. Some people cut fabric, others tie knots, but all are passionate about bringing the love of Christ to others through their work.
