Goal of Ministry
Our goal is to bring joy and fellowship to residents living at The Village at Luther Square by hosting their November birthday party.
Location
The Village at Luther Square is located at 149 West 22nd Street. The party is held in the chapel on the 2nd floor.
Date and Time
The party is held the 2nd Tuesday in November. Volunteers arrive at 2:15 to help transport residents to the chapel. The party begins at 2:45 with a few games of BINGO followed by cake and soft drinks and the party ends at 3:45.
What is Brought to the Party?
- 1 roll of quarters for BINGO
- 3 9x13 cakes
- 2 liters of regular pop and 2 liters of diet pop
- Dessert plates, forks, and napkins for about 45 people
- Disposable gloves for serving cake
- Paper towels to help with clean up
- Spatula, knife for cutting plate
- Candles to put on the cake pieces of any people celebrating November birthdays
- Lighter
Who helps with the party?
The Village at Luther Square’s activity director and a couple other employees at the home help. St. Paul’s usually has at least two helpers and it is fun for the residents to have some young people attend. In the past we have asked a Girl Scout troop to help with BINGO and serve the cake.
